A seasonal favourite of baked cheese lovers. Ours is made from unpasteurised cow's milk on the eastern side of France just off the Swiss border by a local small-scale producer, strictly only between September and March, over the altitude of 700 metres.
How to use it:
Have a couple of pieces of cooked baby potatoes and or a baguette ready.
Cut/carve a cross over the surface Mont d'Or to ensure even baking. Feel free to insert garlic clove slices or fresh rosemary/thyme leaves in the holes. You may also pour some white wine over your Mont d'Or.
Bake uncovered for about 15 minutes or until visibly molten.
Once ready, dip the baby potatoes, baguette slices, pickled gherkins in the cheese. Easily the best baked cheese option out there!
