Tonka beans come from the fruit of a giant tree known as the Cumarou. Principally found in the Amazonian region, it is also grown in Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela. The wood of this tree, the “brazillian teck is exceptionally hard and difficult to work, and its seed has a most extraordinary perfume.

This beautiful Amazonian tonka bean releases warm and indulging notes of vanilla and caramel. Once ground or grated, it will bring warmth to your desserts, fish, vegetables, seafood and poultry. Grate the tonka bean into puddings, compotes, chocolate desserts.
