Mercier Chocolate Camembert 200g

Chocolate praline camembert in a wooden box is one of Maison Mercier's most iconic creations. The packaging and shape resemble that of actual Camembert cheese. This, however, is very much a sweet treat: its dark chocolate shell encases a generous heart of crispy praline, enriched with crumbled crispy crepes. Each piece is then hand-wrapped. Great for sharing after dinner, and an equally nice gift for cheese-lovers.

 

Maison Mercier was founded in 1912. It has always been a family-owned and run business, now, in its fourth generation, it is managed by passionate artisan chocolate and pastry makers in the heart of France. Back to 1920, Marcel Mercier was looking for a way to avoid wasting the unused egg whites in his brioches. That's how he got the idea to mix them with sugar and hazelnuts, creating a crispy and light dough that he baked in large sheets and then sold by the portion.
