Marques de Murrieta Capellania Bianca Rioja Reserva 2016 0.75l

Marqués de Murrieta is one of the oldest Rioja Houses, established in 1852. Rioja Blanco is exceptionally rare, as only 10% of the entire region’s wines are white. The Viura grapes  for Capellania come from the eponymous single vinyeard site: a white wine with a red wine soul, result of the extraordinary quality of selected white grapes from a hundred-year old vineyard. Every single step in the winemaking of Capellanía is aimed to reach the maximum expression of the variety: manual harvest, sorting table, low temperature fermentation, ageing in French barrels... Grapes are de-stemmed and carefully crushed and after a short skin contact they are pressed in a vertical press. This is a gentle and slow process that favors the extraction of all aromatic potential. The juice is then settled and fermented in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank for 24 days. The wine is aged for 16 months in 225-litre new french oak barrels.

Pairs best with fish fillets, seafood dishes as well as risotto.
