Maison Fortwenger has more than 200 years of experience in baking traditional gingerbread and stollen in Alsace. In 1768, the young Charles Fortwenger, a master baker, opened a workshop making tasty gingerbread in Gertwiller. Two centuries later, Fortwenger's famous gingerbread and stollen are still made with respect for the traditions of its founder: quality ingredients, a little pinch of greed for sweet treats....and a large measuring of expertise!
The Risch family has been proudly following the same path for generations: preparation of the mother dough, shaping the various pieces, baking, and then decorating the goods by hand with colourful icing sugar. These are the skills that require a lightness of touch and a love of the craft.
