La Belle Iloise's truly iconic Saint-Georges sardines, the flagship recipe that has shaped their history since 1932. Imagined 90 years ago by the founder of Belle-Iloise, Georges Hilliet, it has stood the test of time with its legendary red and yellow box.

Prepared simply with a fruity extra virgin olive oil, Saint-Georges carries on the original finesse of sardines prepared in the purest respect for traditions. 

Caught when plump and in season, as close as possible to Quiberon, sardines are processed fresh, by hand, within 24 hours of catching. Carefully selected, brined and trimmed, they are canned with the greatest delicacy after cooking. Carefully aligned, all covered with olive oil which rounds out and magnifies the flavours of the fresh fish.

An all-time favorite, Saint-Georges can be enjoyed in so many ways: on buttered toast, in a salad or a tart, as an accompaniment to potatoes, rice or pasta, or even in homemade rillette as canapés.
