Albert Menes Brisling Sardines, Beechwood smoked, Vintage 2017 110g

Our Brisling sardines (also known as Sprats or "Sprotni") are caught in the Baltic Sea and are carefully prepared by hand with the fresh whole fish. After being cleaned and de-headed by hand, they are then cleaned and lightly smoked with beechwood using an old-fashioned smoking process that brings out all the flavours of their soft flesh. Once they have been prepared, the  sardines are placed in tins by hand and preserved in oil.
